Designing with colour – the Le Corbusier way

When this customer mentioned they have a love for vibrant colours, we were very excited to introduce them to the Le Corbusier range by Leicht. This additional colour range includes 15 colours from his 63 architectural colour palettes, all of which have a historical, artistic, and associative background. For this kitchen design, colours 32041 vert anglais clair and 32122 terre sienne claire 31 were chosen and sit on opposite walls, combined with Leicht’s BOSSA ribbed door in oak for the central peninsula.

The worktop was a bold choice with the customer looking for a complimentary contrast, using Neoliths Iron Corten finish and adds a foundation colouring that works well with the other colours and finishes.

As the colours take centre stage, the design details are minimal and linear; handle-less units and the worktop waterfall create sleek, crisp lines and functional units such as the tambour unit and pocket door help the customer to hide away day to day clutter.

The finishes are continued inside the pocket door unit, adding a touch of luxury and warmth, with integrated lighting and worktop finish adding to the durable functionality. All our designs are tailored to the customers needs and this particular design required some attention to the ergonomics due to the customers height. The overall heights of the design are slightly taller than usual to offer a comfortable working space.

A peak into the utility spaces shows a calming, clear space, with fun, colourful touches such as the door frame and architrave highlighted in a bright, cobalt blue, a feature that is seen through the rest of the home.

Vitroline Ovens by Miele include steam cooking and warming drawer and when combined with the BORA X-Pure hob and Quooker tap, cooking becomes efficient and effortless and more enjoyable!

  After obtaining quotes from various large retailers, kitchen designers and carpenters we decided on a German kitchen and contacted Hubble as a local company to us. We had some ideas about the design of our kitchen and Tyler from Hubble was the only designer we saw didn’t “go along” entirely with our thoughts.  His approach demonstrated his skill, expertise and understanding in what would work in our tricky, long kitchen space.  We were impressed with the consultation and design process, iterating until it was perfect.  The showrooms are fantastic examples of the quality and finish.   Hubble designed a lovely, modern kitchen which has been admired by many visitors.  They helped me keep to my tight budget by suggesting a melamine door, which looks and feels stunning,  while having a painted island in a different colour to add contracts and interest.  I had chosen an Adobe boiling water tap on price, which was a big mistake as it was useless, but Hubble arrange to have it replaced with a Quooker while I just paid the difference in the new price.  Great service and a friendly bunch of people.
