Lower Edburton Barn

Multi award-winning BOSSA kitchen from Leicht

Having successfully worked on the client’s previous house, Hubble were asked to adapt their barn into a versatile space to include a kitchen, pantry, boot-room, and laundry room that overlooked an inner courtyard.

To meet this vision, we seamlessly integrated advanced kitchen technology, allowing for the preparation of traditional Asian and North African cuisines. Our choice of Miele Artline appliances, which included steam ovens, steam assist, and microwave combination cooking options, offered not only top-notch performance but also exceptional efficiency. Additionally, we installed the BORA Pro-3 Induction and Tepan, meeting our client’s desire for a more responsive cooking experience.

For refrigeration, we opted for Liebherr with its plumbed-in ice maker and Bio-Fresh Odeg moisture-controlled zone, ensuring the ultimate food longevity and freshness. This provided our clients with the tools they needed to showcase their culinary prowess.

A strategic decision was made to use an ultra-tall 954mm worktop height, allowing for the inclusion of taller-than-average base units. This choice maximized storage capacity while adding a unique dimension to the kitchen, blending form and function seamlessly. To further enhance the kitchen’s aesthetic and functionality, we used Dekton worksurfaces in Kelya, an ultra-compact, carbon-neutral stone known for its durability and suitability for food preparation.

These appliances not only facilitated agile cooking but also introduced a sleek, contemporary aesthetic that beautifully complemented the wood detailing of the Leicht kitchen BOSSA furniture in walnut. Handle-less passage doors in the same Leicht finish now lead to a hidden boot-room and laundry facility, using Ceres Fossil Grey. Additionally, a ‘back kitchen’ or chef’s kitchen offers extra preparation space, perfect for longer-term meal preparation.

We are delighted that our design has allowed our client’s culinary passions to shine. It’s a testament to the art of cooking and the art of creating a living and entertaining space that truly caters to the unique tastes and preferences of those who call it home.
