This client came to us looking for guidance on the design for their new open plan kitchen, diner and living room – a space that would need to suit their passion for cooking, family life and entertaining friends.
Space wasn’t an issue for this design; the key was understanding how the client used their kitchen, so that we could maximise the space and design a kitchen that worked for them.

With large expansive windows looking out over the beautiful woodland garden, low units form an L-shape layout as the main sink makes the most of the views and a connecting low seating area creates the perfect coffee spot to peruse through cookbooks looking for the next exciting recipe to try.

A bank of tall units extends the function of the kitchen, integrating cooling, larder storage, ovens and pocket door storage, offering concealed, functional space and positioned perfectly behind the hob on the island for easy access when cooking.

The connecting utility/boot room and a small dedicated back kitchen are seamlessly connected via pocket doors, all functional spaces that require thoughtful layout planning to maximise storage and ensure an easy workflow throughout all three spaces.

The island extends across the tall units, holding drawer and cupboard storage as well as a prep sink, with a bar seating along the back, perfect for entertaining guests and quick meals times.

The finishes of the kitchen were thoroughly considered, exploring various scheme options shown through samples and sketches to help the client visualise how the design will look in the new space and how these could be continued into the utility and back kitchen to create a cohesive scheme throughout.

The result is a beautiful, highly functional kitchen where the family can cook, dine and spend their day-to-day lives weaving through the hub of the home designed specifically for them.
