8 kitchen trends for 2018

From rising search frequencies on Pinterest to contemporary designs at this year’s KBB live, we’ve noted a few kitchen trends that are leading the way for 2018.

Broken-plan kitchens:

A growing trend that lessens the restrictions of existing walls and layouts of the home. Leicht’s “room-in-a-room” concept is effectively a walk-in space that incorporates kitchen and living room elements into one block.

Two-tone cabinets:

A great way to add interest to your kitchen. Hubble will help you choose the perfect colours from a RAL colour chart and your Leicht kitchen will be tailored to your choices.

Eco kitchens:

As we become increasingly conscious of the damage our day to day lives are having on the environment, there has been a strong increase in the search for environmentally friendly solutions. Leicht created the world’s first ‘Active House’ which not only powers itself, but two electric cars – but power saving appliances and sustainable materials are a great place to start!

Smart kitchen appliances:

It seems our love for technology shows no sign of slowing as search frequencies for ‘smart kitchen appliances’ continue to grow. Our favourite new feature is the Siemens ‘Home Connect’ app that lets you make your coffee from your phone!

Blue cabinets:

Whether it’s a ‘petrol blue’ for a modern kitchen or a darker, more traditional shade, things are looking blue for 2018 – in a very good way.

Concrete tiles:

We know concrete work tops have been a much-loved trend through recent years, but it seems the material is now making its way up the walls.

Dark Worktops:

It seems 2018 may be the year for the bold as people are enjoying darker, more impactful work tops. Check our Ceaserstone’s ‘Vanilla Noir‘ and ‘Piatra Grey’.

  After obtaining quotes from various large retailers, kitchen designers and carpenters we decided on a German kitchen and contacted Hubble as a local company to us. We had some ideas about the design of our kitchen and Tyler from Hubble was the only designer we saw didn’t “go along” entirely with our thoughts.  His approach demonstrated his skill, expertise and understanding in what would work in our tricky, long kitchen space.  We were impressed with the consultation and design process, iterating until it was perfect.  The showrooms are fantastic examples of the quality and finish.  The installation of our kitchen and utility room was smooth, quick with any small issues completely owned and fixed by Hubble.  We recommend them to everyone!

  Hubble designed a lovely, modern kitchen which has been admired by many visitors.  They helped me keep to my tight budget by suggesting a melamine door, which looks and feels stunning,  while having a painted island in a different colour to add contracts and interest.  I had chosen an Adobe boiling water tap on price, which was a big mistake as it was useless, but Hubble arrange to have it replaced with a Quooker while I just paid the difference in the new price.  Great service and a friendly bunch of people.
